We have partnered with renowned manufacturers from Korea who share our commitment to producing non-toxic and safe playmats.
Our dedication goes beyond mere words. Our playmats not only meet but exceed the rigorous European and UK Toy EN71 Standards, earning us the prestigious CE mark, UK-CA and EN-71. Additionally, this making them suitable for newborns and beyond. We have taken extra steps to ensure that our playmats are free from harmful substances such as phthalates, lead, BPAs, PFAs, formaldehyde, and all SVHC-listed chemicals.

Is there a safety precaution for the playmats?
Playmats can be a great addition to create a safe environment for your baby to grow up. To avoid any hazards, we recommend making sure that the playmat is completely flat on the ground with all the edges touching the floor.
Upon first unboxing, unroll your playmat flat on the floor and allow the corners to settle. This ensures that any creases disappear and the playmat does not become a trip hazard.
My playmat doesn’t seem to be settling properly.
You can also simply re-roll the playmat in the reverse direction upon opening and leave overnight then unroll flat on the floor to let it settle naturally.
My baby’s safety and health is a priority. Is Buds & Bear playmats safe?
Our materials have been independently tested and are compliant with UK-CA standards, CE, CPSIA, ASTM ensuring their highest quality and safety. It is non-flammable and will not catch on fire, making it a safer option than other materials on the market. We also believe in leaving a better earth for our children. In line with our mission to promote eco-friendly living, our playmats are made from recyclable materials.
In terms of your baby’s physical safety, we made sure to make it non-slippy, thick, soft, and plush! Waterproof surface makes the playmat easy to clean and non-slippery afterwards. 15mm thick padded foam is what makes them extremely soft, shock absorbent and durable. Perfect for tumbling toddlers, tummy time and exercise!
Are Buds & Bear playmats non-toxic?
We are created sincerely by one parent to another. Safety is an aspect we have decided to prioritise when designing our playmats. You can be rest assured that our products are certified safe.
These are our safety features:
- Main material is non-toxic PVC (polyvinyl chloride).
- Phthalates free, formaldehyde free, lead free, latex free, BPA free, Formamide free, non-toxic, EVA free. Independently tested and are compliant with global standards: UK-CA, CE, ASTM, CPSIA ensuring their highest quality and safety.
- Non-flammable so it will not catch on fire.
