Care Guide
We’ve put together a care guide to make sure the playmat is durable and stays beautiful. There are three parts to remember: unboxing, cleaning, and protecting.
01 Unboxing
Yay, I got my playmat!
Before the first use we recommend removing the packaging and placing it away from your little buds as precaution. Now that the playmat is out of the box, roll it flat and allow the corners to settle. This ensures that any creases disappear and the playmat does not become a trip hazard.
Quick trick: You can also simply re-roll the playmat in reverse direction upon opening. Leave overnight then unroll flat on the floor to let it settle naturally.
02 Cleaning
Oh it’s time to freshen up, what do I use to make it squeaky clean?
To clean your playmat just use water.
You can clean by wiping down with soft cloth and water. If there are stains that require detergent, please use a mild one. Remember to test it on a small part of the mat to ensure it is suitable to use.
Each playmat is also waterproof and can be cleaned with neutral detergents to remove stains. We suggest a natural option like water and vinegar, or our favorite solution – lemon juice and baking soda. Combine 1/3 cup of lemon juice with 1/3 cup of baking soda and mix until it forms a paste. Apply the paste to any stain on the playmat. Remove after 10 minutes with a water-soaked sponge. We do not recommend using steamed or rotating – head vacuums on the surface as this will damage the mat.
How do I choose detergents?
- Please avoid harsh chemicals. They may cause discoloration as they are strong degreasers.
- Ensure that the ingredients are free from natural oils (i.e. Eucalyptus), citric, hypochlorous acid, ethanol, or any alcohol.
- Avoid baby wipes as they may contain alcohol or other chemicals that can discolour or induce cracking effects on the playmat.
Can I vacuum my playmat?
No, you should avoid vacuuming, soaking, and hosing down with a high pressure water hose.
03 Protecting
How do I keep my playmat in mint condition?
Protecting your playmat can keep it fresh and beautiful for longer. Here are 5 things to avoid:
- Direct heat and steam cleaning.
- Direct sunlight.
- Keep pets with sharp claws away.
- Heavy furniture.
- Ink stains.
